BRITTEN ST NICOLAS CANTATA

The Marches Choir will once again be accompanied by the Marches Sinfonia.

The adult role of St. Nicolas will be sung by tenor Clifford Lister, who will also be the soloist in excerpts from Handel's Chandos Anthem no.9.

The choir will also be giving the first performance of "The Prayer of the Cockerel" composed for the choir by one of their members Anthony Hemson.

BIG CHRISTMAS SING!

Wednesday 11th December 2019, 7.00pm

St John's Church, Bishops Castle SY9 5AF

The Marches Choir will be accompanied in festive favourites by the church organ, as well as a brass quartet.

The concert will include several festive pieces from the choir including Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols, as well as carols with audience participation. Children are particularly encouraged to attend and join in the fun!

HANDEL’S MESSIAH

St John's Church, Bishops Castle SY9 5AF

The Marches Choir will be performing Handel’s Messiah as a celebration of their 20th anniversary year - it was the performance of this work on May 4th 2000 as “A Messiah for the Millennium” that prompted the founding of the choir in the autumn of the same year.

The Marches Choir will once again be accompanied by the Marches Sinfonia.
