PUCCINI MESSA DI GLORIA

The Marches Choir will be accompanied, as always, by the Marches Sinfonia alongside three professional soloists. 

The concert will include sacred choral works by Mozart, as well as his Horn Concerto No 3, one of the best loved works in the classical horn repertoire. It will conclude with Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, which abounds with a youthful freedom of expression, rich and powerful choral writing and exquisite solos.

OPERA GALA

Walcot Hall, Lydbury North SY7 8AZ

The Marches Choir will present an evening of musical exuberance in the magnificent ballroom at Walcot Hall, Lydbury North.  They will be joined by the Marches Sinfonia, members of Aber Opera, as well as the wonderful professional soprano soloist Caroline Clarke.

The concert will feature some of the opera world’s most delightful repertoire, with music by Mozart, Donizetti and Verdi amongst others.

BRITTEN ST NICOLAS CANTATA

Saturday 23rd November 2019, 7.30pm

St John's Church, Bishops Castle SY9 5AF

The Marches Choir will once again be accompanied by the Marches Sinfonia, as well as professional soloists. 

The concert will include Britten’s Te Deum in C, as well as his St Nicolas, a dramatic cantata in nine movements, written in 1948 for the centenary of Lancing College in Sussex, the alma mater of Britten’s close friend and frequent musical partner Peter Pears. The work is scored for mixed chorus, treble ensemble, tenor soloist, a few children, strings, piano duet, organ, and percussion.

BIG CHRISTMAS SING!

Wednesday 11th December 2019, 7.00pm

St John's Church, Bishops Castle SY9 5AF

The Marches Choir will be accompanied in festive favourites by the church organ, as well as a brass quartet.

The concert will include several festive pieces from the choir including Vaughan Williams’ Fantasia on Christmas Carols, as well as carols with audience participation. Children are particularly encouraged to attend and join in the fun!
